Songo River Queen

The Songo River Queen II is a spacious vessel able to easily accommodate family reunions and any other large group outing you might want to book. An honest-to-goodness replica of the famed Mississippi River Stern Paddle Wheelers. It accommodates up to 300 people for excursions, private parties and events on the lakes.

Saco River Canoe & Kayak

Come and rent your canoe from Saco River Canoe & Kayak. Enjoy a leisurely one-day trip around Mt. Tom to Walker’s Bridge; or perhaps an overnight journey downriver to Lovewell’s Pond or Brownfield. If you have more time, a three-day trip ending at Hiram or a side excursion into Kezar Lake or Charles Pond can be arranged, without any portages.

For a special treat visit our local Beach Hill Bison Farm right here in Waterford. With over 70 animals to view, and a hay ride right into the fields, you are sure to have a great time. Hear the history of buffalo and buy some gifts or meat in the gift shop.

Hiking

The trails are great! We can suggest many day hikes in the area. Only 30 minutes from White Mountains and Appalachian Trails. Our favorite hike is right across the street on Bear Mountain. For those who don’t like too steep of a climb try Hawk Mountain.

Short Hikes

Work off the Bear Mountain Inn breakfast by taking our 20-minute hike along bear river that borders the Bear Mountain Inn property. Enjoy large pines and the running river. Benches along the way for you to relax and enjoy nature at its best at Bear Mountain Inn.

Horseback Riding

Secret Stable Riding Ranch offers trail rides or lessons. Enjoy beautiful scenic mountain views.

Mt. Washington Auto Road

The Northeast’s highest peak, 6,288-foot Mt. Washington, will captivate you with its remarkable views of the Presidential Range, the White Mountain National Forest and beyond. The route, the views and the magic of this mountain sanctuary have remained largely unchanged since travelers began winding their way up Mt. Washington in 1861. The “Road to the Sky” was an unprecedented engineering achievement and remains the first man-made attraction in the United States! Today, it awaits your personal voyage of discovery.

North Conway

North Conway offers fun for the whole family, including Outlet shopping at Settlers Green, scenic train rides on the Conway Scenic Railroad, mini golf at Pirates Cove Mini Golf, and the Mountain Washington Valley Children Museum or at Cranmore Mountain.
